Project car is gone, now what

I went and sold my project car but I still have the 4g63t and mighty max trans. I would love to hear a few suggestions on what I might put this jdm engine into. I am really looking for swaps that are easy and or bolt-in operations. I find that I just don't have time for anything more involved than ...

I'm alright with stand alone wiring and a 'check engine' light on the dash.

I can get a replacement Beta from ebay for under $1000 so it seems like that might be the lazy way to go.
I've found quite a bit about turbo-ing the beta but I was really hoping for a magical way to replace my engine with a ...

Can I put my 4g63t into a 2008 Elantra

A number of years ago I purchased a JDM 4g63t to put into a Triumph Spitfire that I have but life always seems to get in the way and the two pieces still sit across the shop from each other.
I am hearing some unsavory sounds from under the hood of my commuter car and I find myself wondering if I ...

I can't see any reason why the engine couldn't be wired seperately from the cars original wiring. You only really need to tap into a few wires to control the motor from the cockpit.

Something about old triumph wiring: They used bullet connectors everywhere. After time they corrode and get ...

I'll wager you heard that a lot when you first said that you were going to match a rwd toyota trans to a fwd mitsubishi engine.
If I build an intake and spin the turbo then ...

Still measuring and still scratching my head.
I have a few questions now though.
Can I buy an intake manifold flange to build an intake, or do I need to make that part too? Ditto on the inlet flange.
What's up with that damn oil filter housing? It's gotta go. Is there an easy solution to shaving ...

The drawn picture shows the new cross member in red and the old cross member is still in place to show how far forward the new stuff is in relation.
In my minds eye the only cross member remaining when I put the engine in will be the red one.

Center of gravity has nothing to do with it. It's all about clearing the hood.

I like the idea about using motor plates to tie the frame together. What sort of material should I use for that? Will the thicker plate put too much space between the block and bellhousing or do I need shims somewhere ...

Unless my measurements are out, the bottom surface of the block is going to be below the upper edge of the frame. That is to say, the block isn't going to clear the cross member either. I'm not sure how 'dry' I can make a sump but unless the sump is negative inches, i don't think it will clear ...

You think 300hp is going to be too much?
Um ya, that's kind of the point.

I used to have a big 4X4 (or is that $x$?) and I guess I am still stuck in that 'go big or go home' mentality. It's very important to me that when it's all done, NO ONE passes me without my permission. That includes ...

In the first incarnation of this build, I intend to run the stock rear end (which is certainly not strong enough) for a summer while I sort out the front end problems. I shouldn't have too much trouble because with the stock rear comes stock skinny little tires so I will never get enough traction to ...

1975 Triumph Spitfire

My spitfire is pretty fine car in the corners. It's got nearly 50/50 weight balance and can pull .87 on the skidpad wearing bias-ply shoes. The problem comes in before and after the corner. In fact it takes most of a sunday to get to the corner. Original factory specs call for a whopping 70Hp. Now ...

I want to keep this as simple as possible because I haven't worked with fuel injection before and the turbo is definitely out of my experience range so even in basic trim these things are going to be a little challenging. At the same time however, I don't want to paint myself into a corner by ...

ecu options

I am getting closer to starting my engine swap project but I have hit a snag. The ECU I have is badly toasted in the middle of the board. Maybe it works, maybe it doesn't but I certainly can't depend on it working. Instead of buying another ecu what are my options? Are there any non-mitsu ...

I don't think that I could possibly tear apart that beautifully original engine bay. I am sure there are speed parts that you could put on the current Alpine engine to give it a bit of pep in it's step. Heck, throw a centrifugal supercharger on it. The thought of throwing a 4G63 in that car would ...

Long time lurker, first time poster.

I am going to be doing a similar swap soon.
I have a '78 triumph spitfire that is going to get the 'spitsubishi' treatment as soon as I get my '75 spitfire back on the road.

I am using the D50 trans for now because the car only weighs 900Kg's and because I didn ...
