Smallest trans in physical size is the MM/D50, also the cheapest. (Maybe you knew that already) It sounds like this is a buggy on a students budget, so it seems like a logical choice anyways. Find a beat down 1g turbo dsm for cheap and buy the whole car, strip everything you need out of it and scrap ...

Seeing that you're in NorCal, how do u plan to register this bastard? Just curious.....
Anywho, I'm biased towards the early-gen s10's. I have one right now that has 175k miles on the odo with a tired factory motor, it's next in line after I finish converting my eclipse. Parts are so cheap and easy ...

yeah i noticed how much you had cut out, i'm really hoping that i don't end up having to do any of that. the most i'm planning right now is to get rid of this little 'ridge' at the front edge of the trans tunnel, i'll prolly just use a sledge and invert it up into the body. or if i tear into the ...

haha that's soooo funny, i thought the exact same thing about my rack! mine is also located just off of the firewall, and at first thought about trying to source a RHD rack for the same exact reason, to flip it and move it in front of the axle :o i think i'm just going to end up using a rack out of ...

This is such an awesome project, I'm actually starting the chop-up of my front k-member tomorrow for my 1g dsm. I wish your pics were bigger :? so I could see how you worked yours out. Did you use the factory steering rack but move it up in front of the axles? I couldn't really tell in the pics. And ...

first off, i have to start with saying that this project is way rad, i dig it :D especially the tilt-forward front end
maybe i'm missing something or looking at the pics in the wrong way, but i'm having a hard time visualizing the driveline angle. to me it looks as if the tail shaft of the trans is ...

just bought the jay-kit and it dosnt the pulleys, not even close...
So you're saying that they revised the design and it clears the pulleys, right? Are you using all dsm components, or do you have a different w/p or pulley? I ask because I have a 1g dsm set up currently in the works, and will buy ...

In the EXCEEDINGLY excessive amount of reading I've done over the last 10 years or so, a common trend seems to be that the lines will be low on the restrictive list relative to other parts such as rail or filter. I must follow this by saying that this is only my findings from reading, I don't have ...

To my knowledge, our only 6 speed option is the T56, which bill has so kindly produced a housing for. A 6 speed is my goal too, cos I'd really like to get my highway rpms down some more, but I can't seem to find a T56 for less than like $1200. That's quite a chunk of change considering u still need ...
