starting to learn about 4G64

Post by LUMPY300 »

hello all new here. just starting to learn about all this narrow and wideblock and 6 and 7 bolt crank stuff. i currently have a 82 d50 with the 54b and 4 speed. the engine is locked up. guy rebuilt it and drove a 100 miles and it seized? anyways i have a 7-bolt 4g64 engine out of a forklift. the bellhousing bolts measured somewhere around 12 1/4? can someone tell me if this engine will fit in my truck ? if not i'd be interested in trading for some 54 parts.

12 1/4 is the narrow block version. however, being as you have a mighty max, it would be easy enough to find a manual trans from one, that is the narrow pattern, to stick in it.
