Hi, again.

Post by TurboFusion »

Well, after using this site for reference on my MPI build, I thought I should join the forums to keep whoever might be interested updated.

I was technology on sqc but got banned for e-fighting, but mostly, I just want to talk about car stuff, and since this site is now much more oriented toward my setup than anyother place, I might make a thread chronicling my harness and parts swap.

The info here is good, but it's really oriented toward a straight swap, where as I thinned the harness down to the bare essentials needed to run the G54B with a cam angle sensor, speed-density MPI and the dsm coilpack. I accidentally got a '90 harness and needless to say, I had a hard time making sense out of the directions. Now that the hard part is done, I just have some basic assembly plus cutting for the new intercooler and it should be ready to rock and roll. The thing I'm trying to do now is get it started on the AEM.

I have one question right away, and the dsm guys local to me don't have a solid answer.

In this picture, what is the firing order? 1-4-2-3 or 2-3-1-4? It was sparking, but not firing, and they suggested I switch orders but no one was really sure.

asuming you didnt unbolt the coils themselves off the brackets and flip them around it should be 4-1-2-3

On the DSM coil pack, 1 & 4 and 2 & 3 fire together. Also, if for some reason your CAS is backward, you can just switch plug wires and it should still run.
