Okay, admittedly I'm at work, and haven't really gone home to look at the DSM and all, but would there be any negative effects in mounting the throttle body upside down when boltnig it to the manifold? I have the Forrester manifold, and as far as the opening goes, it looks like you can mount it which ever way you please. Mounting it upside down would put the throttle cable on the outside of the manifold instead of over the runners, and I'm worried that with as straight as the runners are, the cable would have to literaly ride on top of them.

I have mine diagonal coming off at an angle (pointing towards the battery location). This made IC pipes a bit easier. You also should take into consideration the fuel return lines and all that. As of the throttle cable, I ran that on the inside.. this way I could use the coilback mounting holes to mount a bracket (which I need to remember to take a pictuer of one of these days).
What can I say.. mock it up.. come up with a better way and we'll all love you when we do the swap.. or do it again
.
There is no UP in the throttle body.. and dont even bother with the water lines.. okay.. I'll say that for sure if I can make it past the winter with mine.

Getting the engine bolted in is about 10% of the way there.
The next 80% can go quickly with help and skill.
That last 10% takes about as long as the 90% that came before it.

Yeah I planned on removing my coolant lines to the TB as well. I do know on 3000GT theres a fast idle air valve and some spring in the TB that needs to be removed as well, or you will get idle problems (and possibly not even right away, its weird, heh). My buddy found out the hard way on his Stealth when he installed his MAFT in a blow-through setup, and the Idle was all over the place. I'm talkin 400rpm - 2000rpm, and bouncing like crazy... sounded like he was revving at people
. I was concerned if turning the TB upside down would affect that as well, but I kinda doubt it, plus I don't even know if this engine has that.
Damn I need to find some time to get in the freakin garage!!! Starting a new job this Tuesday, just bought a house that I'm workin on... its a tough time for a project car I guess! But since I sold my 3KGT VR4 I'm dying for some speed... my 2.8L 89 firebird just doesn't cut it... hell, my girlfriends stock Saturn SL2 pulls on it pretty good, heheh.
