hey guys,
this is my first post on this website, and just like to say I hope it becomes a wealth of info that all may turn for future projects like ours.
well I'm currently into my 3rd year with my 1982 lancer.
swapped the 4G63Turbo motor into it.
I'd like to share what I did with my transmission.
I got a block with crankshaft mounted, RB20DET 5speed, 4G63 flywheel, pressure plate and starter.
took it all to a machineshop and had an adapter plate made for the transmission to bolt to the block. the only modification had to be done to the tranny was a new mounting point had to be made for the starter, and the highgear shaft needed to be shortened by a 1/2".
I havn't run the car yet as there are some other upgrades I'm going thru.
EVO VII twin scroll turbocharger.
custom exhaust and intake manifolds.
550cc msd injectors.
Haltech E6S management.
hks evc boost controller.
Greddy Trust intercooler (18x10X2.75")
3" straight thru kakimoto exhaust.
I havn't gone on the inside yet.
what bhp do you guys think I'll do with this?
4g63 tuners

Welcome! I'd love to see some photos. Where are you located?.. or do you just happen to know a source for RB20 trannies? I dont even think they had a lancer in the US.
I'm not much of a 4g63 tuner. I'm just getting into modifying the motor (I finally turned the boost past 8psi tonight). I know the basics of how a motor works and that alone can get me pretty far. As for all the little bits, I dont know.
I hear those twin scrolls make crap loads of power.. I'm guessing its capable of the 400-450hp range... the 550cc injectors probably wont make it too far past 350hp though.
I could be wrong though. Hope you dont get bored too fast here.. this place tends to move REALLY slowly.

Getting the engine bolted in is about 10% of the way there.
The next 80% can go quickly with help and skill.
That last 10% takes about as long as the 90% that came before it.

My guess is he's from Australia...
The RB20DET, I think, is the Nissan V6 that came in their version of the 300ZX, is that right? Definetly post up some pics!
Well, now I've got the truck, should I do the swap?

sorry bout that guys I wasn't online in a while.
Well I'm from Trinidad W.I., thats in the Carribean. We have a lot of performance stuff coming in here, from SR20's to RB26's. Evos to skylines they all come from Japan.
the RB20DET is from the older skylines. the VG30DET is the 300ZX V6.
Well I havn't got much pics of the car yet but what I hope to do in the near future is to document every step I took and all obstacles so it may help make other swaps easier.
If I'm correct the AEM EMS is also a standalone?
I havn't gotten much reviews on it yet but the haltach has already proven its ground.
I really hope the Turbo works great too, I'll have to make a new manifold for it though.
