Different alternator in a new location

Post by GRNDSM »

Guys,

I am facing relocation of my alternator to the intake side of the engine. I know that there are BR and JayRacing kits. But... that is too easy :). Before I adapt a crappy DSM alternator, I want to look into the possibility of installing some other alternator.

Mega amperage is not a concern to me, but I want it to be:

- small (thus lighter)
- VERY RELIABLE (I am sick of rebuild DSM alternators, which have 50% failure rate with-in a week of installation)
- Reasonably priced (~$100)

Does anyone have any candidates for such project?

Thanks,

That is what I am talking about! If I am going to make two new ways of attaching alternator to a 4G63, I may just as well make sure that it is the BEST alnternator!

Do you have any idea what application it originall came from?
