I live in Bendigo Australia, near melbourne Victoria.
My car is a 1982 JA starion 4g63t. I recently painted it kona blue. I do all my own work normally but painting was a first time thing for me so it isn't perfect but with a bit of rubbing and a polish it will come up ok.
So after paint now comes the engine!
I stripped the old girl down and found broken rings and a rooted head gasket.
Sure I could just give it a freshen up but what better excuse to mod it a bit while i'm at it.
So far it goes like this.
Standard starion block bored .5mm .020"
SRP professional 4032 forged 2g pistons. 9.0:1 compression ratio. This will be around 7.9:1 in the Starion after shaving a little off the head and block.
Eagle H beam 1g-2g hybrid rods.
ACL race bearings.
I think I will remove the balance shafts by machining off the lobes.
Running a hi flowed small 16g turbo and smallish front mount intercooler
Ported SOHC head
Standard early ECI setup for now so only around 12psi boost.
Will have to save up and go MPI at a later date to run more boost.
What power and torque figures are likely with my setup as is and with say 18-20psi boost?
The car will be 90% street driven with occasional track day/sprint/motorkhana duties thrown in so I am looking for low down response with this build rather than all out power.
