Hyundai H1 starex 4g64t \ g4js turbo

Post by Marietto »

Project:
Hello fellow crazy people. I am not sure you even know what car this is, but its pretty much exactly the same as a Mitsubishi delica L400 van. I now have this stupid idea of making it super fast...so here is the project:

Car hyundai H1 starex from 2004. Turbo diesel.

Want to convert it to a 4g64 / hyundai g4js turbo (2,4 evolution ish)

This model van came with the g4js so the idea is to Get the engine and gearbox from a h1 starex 2,4 g4js that i should fit the standard driveline, i will have to use the valvetrain from the mitsubishi evo 8, evo 8 turbo setup, throttlebody, ecu, wiringloom etc.

I need to modify the block with squirters and oilsupply for the turbo and return to the sump.

First worry: gearbox and propshaft: will it die instantly cause its too weak? Will the evo clutch fit? Are there better transmission setups i should consider? (Want this project as bolt-on as possible)

Second worry: electronics. Should i go for the standard evo ecu or go for another stystem? How do i Get this monster running?

Are there any other things i really have to look into or is this pretty straight forward?

Really happy for any help and suggestions, links, and experiences.

I was reading in a golf magazine, this guy in Europe has a Corrado with a G60 Turbo Making 309whp and 300ft/lbs. Good luck with the build.
