I'm pretty sure they are not limited slip, but the gears will work on your car. I know a few people running them. 3.9s and 4.6s are also available from the Mighty Max, Mighty Max 4x4 and Montero.

Getting the engine bolted in is about 10% of the way there.
The next 80% can go quickly with help and skill.
That last 10% takes about as long as the 90% that came before it.

The US MightyMax pickups. I've seen a few in the junk yards around here with the 3.9 code on the firewall and I saw a 4.22 in a MightyMax 4x4. I also usually go to www.car-part.com and search for what's for sale as far as rear gears to get an idea of what came on what.

Pretty sure the Starion rear differenential is basically the same as the Montero front differential as several people have used the Starion LSD for the Montero front differential. You would want to talk to the Mitsubishi Tech board over at http://www.4x4wire.com/ for definitive answers.

I don't know if this will help you or not, but on the site I listed below. The guy built a 2.4L turbo mighty max, and in his writings, he mentions that he swapped in a complete rear from an '88 Dakota that is posi. He mentions that it went in pretty easily, maybe this will help you out.

On a side note, I noticed you're in Jacksonville, NC. I happen to be in Swansboro now visiting family. Good to know you're kinda local.
