Had this engine together for a few years, finally started on the install.

2.4 4G64 Wideblock from a Mighty Max, 1g DOHC head, Mighty Max water pump.

I had already installed the water cooled oil cooler. IT FITS!

Even with the bigger StarQuest filter...

since you used the 4g64 block im assuming it bolts right up to the stock transmission in your starion right?

yes it bolts right up.

my only "problem" was that i didn't keep the 4g block plate, the g54b plate doesn't really match up with the shape of the 4g block very well.

o ok so if you would have kept the block plate it wouldnt have been a problem right

Beautiful. What exhaust manifold are you running? I'd like to have mine top-mount.

What about cooling?

The turbo manifold is an EBAY special that I cut and rewelded the head flange to make a topmount. I have no idea if it will hold up, but thought it was worth a shot.

As far as cooling, I fabbed up a plate with an- fitting on the back of the head and will be using stainless hoses throughout. also welded on an- fittings on the water pump and radiator.
