Measure the old flywheel. My guess is that the VR4 flywheel will not fit. Most of the RWD swaps (including Billhousings) use the FWD diameter ring gear flywheel. But again, just measure the old one if you still have it to be sure.
Do it in a Datsun!

I believe that the AWD ring gear is a smaller diameter than the FWD ring gear. The actual measurements though.. I don't have them handy.

Getting the engine bolted in is about 10% of the way there.
The next 80% can go quickly with help and skill.
That last 10% takes about as long as the 90% that came before it.

What diameter is the ring gear? How big of a clutch can it accept? How many bolts does it have for the crank? Does it have a pilot bearing?

Fwd FW + clutch

Post by tektic »

I also have a some flywheel question.

1990 g63b wide block 1987 starion trans

Can A fwd dsm clutch, pressure plate and flywheel be used with a starion trans connected to a wide block? What starter and plate is required? Where do I find the specs for the pilot bearing install? Am I forgetting anything I need to make this work in my 1995 mighty max?

Thank you
