Differences between 87+92 RWD trans/clutch questions.
I have a 92 ram50 - 2.4L, 5spd. I got a 87 trans from the wreckers after mine began making noises. Now that i have it installed, the pedal goes almost all the way to the floor before it disengages. I had replaced the clutch and got the flywheel machined for the 92 trans.,. i have the cable adjuster cranked as far as it'll go, and the only other thing i have yet to change is the clutch fork shaft/arm part. Ive bought this part, but i'm not looking forward to a full re+re just to swap this part after already filling it up with fluids etc. my local part shop says the clutches are the same part #. are there any other ideas/advice that might help me? pls+thanks

there is a lot of discussion on this because of a difference in clutch fork/throwout bearing thickness, it had to do with turbo/intercooled engine clutch forks were not the same as n/a engines
if you have an intercooled transmission, and this is related to the tranny case it is made 5mm closer to the engine block and you have to use the throwout bearing and slave rod that is 5mm SHORTER.

ok
i think it came from a 2.6L na truck. but i mean, that sounds like a reasonable explanation... i sawpped the throwout too since it was almost new... ouch. i hope i got the right fork too, back to fact checking... thanks for the help
