Is there any serious issue with running one, as the diff is offset around 2" to the passenger side. I think it would be ok, as that rear end finds homes in tons of other cars, but I'd like to check with someone who knows.

Explorer Rear End

I used the 95-99 explorer disk brake rear end.Install was relatively cheap and easy.
1)Use the ford u-bolts with the mighty max lower brackets.
2)The mighty max shocks can be re-used.
3)Use the ford brake line and re-flare the mighty max hard line.
4)Clamp the ford paring brake clevis to the mighty max parking brake cable.The mighty max cable fits the ford cable anchor.
5)Make a drive shaft.

If you are installing this in a truck, here are some pics of how I did my install. I used a Summit adj prop valve and welded a tab on the frame for the stock ford hose to attatch to.


When you eliminate the old load-sensing prop valve, you will have to eliminate one brake line port under the hood, I used a 10mm adapter fitting and steel cap to plug off the port:
