swap 6 bolt crank in place of 7 bolt crank?

Post by capev86 »

hey gang....

i was wondering if it was possible to use a (more plentiful) mitsu car 2.4 with the 7 bolt crank and swap in a 6 bolt 2.4 crank so i can use it in my 87 ram 50 and keep the original narrow bell-housing trans. i figure it would be best to use the ram50 2.4 intake/fuel injection system. tough finding a 92 expo cheap in good running shape locally, especially considering the 1.8 was the standard engine.

Quick answer: NO

The bearing journals are completely different between the two motors.
Do it in a Datsun!

you can use a 7 bolt AWD flywheel and its exactly the same as the 6 bolt AWD flywheel ,same with the FWD swap , just the centers change, so you can use your bellhousing
