And now the building of parts begin....

Post by daedalus »

So, I have decided to go with a 4g64 wideblock from the 88-92 truck/wagon/van (I assume these are mistu trucks.... 4g64 because, I don't want to deal with the transmission drama.

Now, through the endless reading I've been doing I've learned that these have good for nothing internals. So, I was thinking of picking up forged crank, con rods, and pistons. Apparently ROSS is suggested for 4G6* by a lot of people because they expand correctly.

Also I've read that any 4g6 head will go on any 4g6 block. Well, atleast bolt on, doesn't mean the oil drain holes will work. I think I'd be happy with an EVO 3 head but I'd really like to go with EVO VIII and up head. Simply because I have a lot of suppliers for EVO parts which means cheaper.

Has anyone put an evo head on a older 4g63/4 successfully?

The idea of going with the 64 removed a lot of disstress.

Ohhhh. I haven't been able to find out if a newer evo intake and exhaust manifold will work on a older 4g6 head...

Hopefully someone can understand where my ramblings are going and give me a little insight.

Thanks!

I'll post pictures of my Conquest later this week.

Stock Crank is good, Nitrided at the factory. Eagle H beam Rods are good replacements for the stock ones. I use Atomic Speedware for Pistons.
