head studs

Post by odee1 »

What head studs are people using for a 4g64 with the dohc 4g63 head swap? I've read on the net from 1g to 2g studs. Which is the best?

Yeah, it would depend on which block you have man. 7 bolt studs are smaller than 6.

I've got a 2.4 wide block from a mighty max. How do you tell the difference between a 6 ot 7 bolt? Any certain brand to use?

If the transmission's not off to where you can see if it's 6 or 7, telling us what year the MM is will be a big help.

I don't know the exact year of the block. Tranny is off counted 6 flywheel bolts. Was this the difference between the 6 or 7 bolt? thanks

Yes. That's the difference for the most part.

7 bolt's are torque to yield...they are not reusable
6 bolt's are reusable.
