Question about W58 billhousing

Post by mrsnoops »

Did some searching and came up with nothing so...

Does anyone know if the W58 Billhousing was designed with the starter plate in mind? I am about to put my trans in and I don't have one, but can get one if it is required. I have the turbo FWD flywheel with the Toyota pilot bearing machined in and that 1-2mm starter plate could mean the difference between a working and broken input shaft or bearing. Thanks!!

IF its an early bellhousing and you are using the FWD flywheel, you can use the OEM seperator plate , no problem, but if you have an AWD bellhousing, then you need a custom seperator plate

I got it from a guy named Eric who was putting the same setup in a BMW, but he included the flywheel and Clutch and I am not sure which I have or if I have a fwd or awd bell
