Fuel System question

Post by bjlind8888 »

i have read alot of posts on here.. i am new to the dsm game and to this forum.. i have a 88 mm with mechanical fuel pump.. im going to be putting in a 4g63 now my question is is there any way to run an in tank fuel pump??.. i will be baggin it as well and dont want the fuel pump to get sparks all over it when draggin... And im looking to still have the stock tank cuz i have to pass emissions where i live so you need a fuel cap and fuel cell cap wont pass.... i was thinking i could get a mpfi tank from a newer mighty max.. but i was wondering if there is anyway to make my stock one work?? thanks brandon

Sparks shouldn't matter, of course as long as your not leaking fuel. I mounted my walbro 255 on the back of the cab. Remove the fender well on the drivers rear. And you will have easy access to mount the pump. Its mounted up high so I wouldn't worry about sparks get to it.

I'm not sure about the mechanical pumps but if you can get your hands on an EFI truck, the walbro 255 is a dropin replacement for the stock pump. Super easy.
