Block ID

Hey I was wondering if anyone can help me positively ID this block. Its a 92 4g64 6 bolt but I need to know exactly how to measure the bell housing. Do I measure center to center on the dowels, outside to outside, or what?

What about for a narrow block? Its for an awd dsm. There is a lot of confusing info on the dsm boards. I have a 6 bolt 4g64 block and some people there swear it doesn't exist. Lots of mystery around the 2.4l motors.

6 Bolt 4G64 usually comes from Hyundai Sonatas. The G4CS. Basically the same as a 4G64. Narrow blocks are 12.25".

Also some Galants, vans, etc... Take a look at this list.

This is a pretty accurate list. There's a few things that are missing, but don't make more than a slight difference when things come down to it.

Thanks that is a very complete list. I have the narrow block 2.4l 6 bolt out of a 92 expo. I have been told that it doesn't exist buy DSM guys but here it is in my basement.

It exists....

From the Mitsu Motor Application Guide at RRE

2350 CC

5/91 - 94

Expo
4G64 FWD, SOHC, 8 valve, non MCA head, 12 1/4" bell housing

I think the problem people have is that it's a 6 bolt.....
