hardwiring a scanmaster tool

Post by boise-nic »

I found a great location for the scanmaster in the MM but can't figure out how to wire it. Because I took the DSM engine harness and put it in the MM, the diagnostic port by the fuse box won't work for the plug anymore. Not a big deal really, just need to know which wires go to the ecu.

Here is a shot of the plug I am talking about....

Of the 4 wires, one is power, one is ground, and the other two go to the ECU (I think). Which color wire goes to what pin? It's either pin 1->self-diagnosis output, or pin 2-> diagnosis / data transfer select terminal.

Im not sure what the scan master tool is. But this is how I did mine. I used this:

Referring to this 1g pin out:

ALDL/ECU Connector
ground/diag goes Connecter C-61 Pin 1
data transfer goes to Connecter C-61 Pin 2

I'd imagine just hook these pins up wire in some 12v+ for your scan tool. And your done.
