Ran into a broke down SOHC carbed 1985 dodge ram 50 that on the firewall has stamped for the engine code g63b. It is a 4g63b. Didn't know that these trucks had this motor for this year. The guy is interested in selling the motor to as the body is shot from sitting for so long. My questions on this motor are as follows just for confirmation.
1. this g63b is the same as a 4g63?
2. Would I be able to mount a DOHC from a 1g onto this motor just like doing a sohc - dohc swap? And mount the MPI intake to this motor through the DOHC?
3. Is there going to be any difference in bore, stroke, block height, etc? Or should this short block be treated as a RWD wideblock 4g63 able to be forged out, turbocharged, ran up to 9k redline just like any other 4g63b?
4. This motor contains a 4 speed manual (original tranny). Does anyone have any idea if this transmission could be pulled with the motor and mount up to my starion body?
5. Any clue on if this is going to be a 6 bolt?
1985 Dodge Ram 50 custom with 4g63b???
