starion u joints = junk

Post by screemin eagle »

had the car out today for some final season fun. i took my buddy for a ride 6'3" 330lbs i lay into it 1st gear smoke the tires shift 2nd and pow bang bang bang. the car shuts off we coast i smell gas so i get out and look under to find my drive shaft tangled in my fuel return line and its pissing all over. the joints had maybe 800 miles on them. i cut back the line and plugged it up wired the shaft up gonna have it towed back to my shop one night this week. looks like the brake lines took a beating not sure how bad though. guys when you get your cars running be careful. my tires are not even that sticky kuhmo victoracers.

Bill can you make another one of those spicer flanges?

yeah Dave we can get you fixed up, better build you a drive shaft loop too

I always place my fuel lines and brake lines inside the car, along the tunnel, just because of what happened to you

yeah time for some more revisions to make it more comfy to drive. ditching all the solid steel mounts and swapping the gearset.

Bill what do you need to make that flange?
