Aftermarket Flywheel

Post by lsr mike »

6 bolt, 4G64 wideblock.... Doesn't come up with any of the aftermarket companies for 92 Mighty Max. I have seen rumor on the internet that an old Starion 2.6 flywheel will do the job. Anyone here have any g2 on this?

Here's my project..

Check and see it the 6 bolt 1g FWD turbo eclipse flywheel will line up to the 4g64 block. I think it will due to the fact that the blocks are almost the same. And if the 1g flywheel works then I would go with a 1g ACT fwd flywheel. Or you can even go with AC competition flywheel.

Starter ring and clutch are too small. Besides no provinsion for a pilot bearing. It will bolt up but the stater wont engage.. Get a findeza (sp?) for a 88 quest and call it a day.

the flywheel is the same, I have run one in the past. You want the 88 quest because it uses the bigger clutch.. The earlier flywheels are the same but drilled for the smaller clutch which is probally the same diameter as you stock one. The bigger quest clutch is 225mm I believe.

The Truck Clutch is 8 7/8 in, 225 MM... What did you use the Flywheel on?

I actually got some skinny from Fidanza late yesterday, They have my OEM Mitsu Flywheel, and after they made a crazy proposal to do a custom Clutch/ Flywheel setup, I came here asking questions. After i researchd their P/N I asked them to compare the Spec's. Turns out the difference is

-Crank flange to clutch surface is off. The oem is 150 thousandths thinner than the conquest.

Now that they've got that egg all over them I'm trying to get them to deal a bit.
Thanks everyone for the help. I'll be around, not much on swap info but I do know my way around a 4G64.

Mainstream,
Mightyd50.com is screwed up, there is a Trojan laoding from the main page and from the forums. I haven't been able to get there for a week. Antivirus blocks the site. Otherwise i most likely would have seen the info there. Thanks, and head up everyone!
