FD vs. FC transmission...

Post by stealthx32 »

Some people say they're interchangeable, some say not.

Exedy says the input shaft of the FD trans is 23 teeth, 26.4mm in diameter while the FC trans is 23 teeth, 26.2mm in diameter.

ACT lists the same part number for both transmissions.

Wow! .2mm Is that even enough to worry about? I'm sure it may be enough for some machined parts, but an input shaft I wouldn't think it would make a difference. I bet you can get .2mm of wear on that input shaft over the past 15 years since it was made by Mazda.
