EVO4+ RWD with MM Mounts?

Post by Burabuda »

i did a search but came up with nothing
there's not much talk of evo motors here, but i'll ask anyway: does anybody know for a fact if the EVO4+ engines have the same motor mount location and bolt pattern so that they could "drop in" a rwd application using the MM mounts?

that's what i'm thinking

a related question: if i pick up an awd engine, can i expect any complications or changing of parts due to awd differences?

Awd flywheel will not work with d50 trans. you need a Fwd flywheel. the starter will not engage the ring gear. It is smaller I believe. there are some threads on this here. Happy searching.

yeah, i did know you have to use a fwd flywheel, thx.

but are we talking just 6bolt engines or does that go for a 7bolt as well?

i was just told that the 7bolt will require modifications for the starter to work properly (or just have custom flywheel made up)

I don't know about the 7bolt. thats's a good question. I would believe the same would apply, but don't quote me on that. Anybody have a 7bolt flywheel fwd and 6bolt fwd flywheel to measure?

there's a evo tuner place near me, and i scored a grenaded evo4 engine

i got it for the manifolds, but now i'm wondering if i should build my engine around the cylinder head itself
