tranny info for my 4g63 swap into my starion

im clear on everything that needs to be done for the swap the only thing that im not clear is on the trans, i dont understand why you cant use the tranny out of the starion but you can use the tranny out of the D50 Mighty max, there the same thing both cars have G54Bs in them and im pretty sure they didnt make a wide and narrow block for the G54Bs, can anyone clear this up for me, cause it doesnt make sense to me???

Mighty Max's not only came with a g54b, they also came with a 4g64(2.4L FI) and a 2.0l (g63b) which is the tranny you want to use becuase that block came in a narrowblock version.

You can use the quest/starion trans but you will need a wide block 2.0 or a 2.4
It's adapting the turbo head/manifolds yaddda yadda, to those particular blocks instead of the g45B ENGINE. (which are hard to come by in good shape. At least by me!)

As dropped_mitsu stated, you need a manual trans out of a 2.0l mighty max/d50, but you would have to adapt it for use with a hydro clutch. I have one of these if you are interested.
