Hey guys I have an 88 starion that I was planning on rebuilding the motor in. Right now I have the head and everything off and I am thinking about just going one step further and ripping the block out. I have just browsed around the site for a few minutes and it looks like you can use a 4g63 wide block with a starion 5 speed tranns. My question is is how do I determine if it is a wide or narrow block. Also will I need a trans adapter if I use th wide block and starion tranns. Im not looking for a crazy amount of power at this point I just want to get the damn thing on the road. Thanks guys. Also if you guys want to see pics of the car let me know and I will post them.

it is a g54b motor and from looking around on the site I am pretty sure that it is a wide block motor. SO this means I have to use like a mighty max block with a DOHC head on it. i want to go with a turbo motor but thhey didn't make turbo mighty maxs if I am correct. i was hoping I could go with a eclispe/talon motor and stay with the same tranny but it looks like that is out of the question. Is there and adapter for a wide to narrow block with out having to swap internals from one tranny to another or without using a different trans?
