I have a couple ?s about wiring up my swap. I have a 2g engine, harness, and ecu going in to a 88 starion. Any insight on the subject would be helpful. Keep in mind im not the greatest when it comes to wiring.
1. When wiring the B-38 plug into the DSM harness, which plugs are u getting the wires from off the DSM harness? Is it just the C57, 58, 59 plugs and if so do u need to do anything with the wires that are remaining on those plugs.
2. How are u guys running the wiring for the fuel pump
Need help wiring!

Its pretty simple, im not sure if you really want to stay with OBD2 stuff though, either or its not as bad as you might think, the only suggestion i have is making it as simple as possible. mine has B+ , GND, ON and an exciter wire connected to a ford starter relay( just bypassed the relay on the starter itself and used the bendix drive)
and for the 2nd one i just used the fuel pump turn on from the EFI Main Relay and feed it to a 30 amp relay with a fuse for the +12 constant .

Well technically its all the same, it has wires sensors and various other things to make it work. With that being said having had a couple of 2g and 1g turbo cars, and having years of working with varous electrical / electronics project i personally would stay away from the 2g. its good, and bad for a couple of reasons. 1 being its a 2g and OBD2 any ommited sensors would flag it to light up the CEL, sometimes its easy fixes( like 02 sensor tricks) sometimes not so easy.2 there is just a ton more wire you could do without.
Not saying its impossible or dont do it, its just my personal opinion to keep things relatively simple because there are much worse things you would need to worry about building a project such as this. on the other hand the 2g would have tons of additional inputs you can log if you're running something like dsmlink or similar stuff.
Hope this helps, and if you got any wiring problems dont be affraid to ask, asking is cheaper than buying *if something goes terribly wrong.

I totally agree with u when it comes to keeping things simple. The less there is the better. The problem is that im tring to build on a budget, and the parts metioned fell it my lap. So they meet the mentioned budget, and i figure ill just use what i got and role with the punches. My goal isnt to build a monster of car, im just looking to build a reliable, fun to drive 4g powered starion. Just somthing too go play around in on the weekends. Thanks for the reply bud, keep up the good work!

you can remove quite a few stuff on the 2g as well but they may trigger CEL's some might affect drivability, Some might not.
hope this helps, http://www.vfaq.com/mods/ecu-harness-2G.html
If you need help something ill try to dig up my 2g electrical service manual sometime. If you need any help feel free to ask.
