I found a 88 montero 4x4 with a g54b in it. It is a narrowblock. Can I swap a 4g63 in it and use the stock montero tranny?

If it is a narrowblock, yes you can

Yea, if it a narrowblock g54b, which I have heard that there are some, then it should bolt up.
BTW, g54b is 2.6

I was thinking g64b for some reason
I was not aware of a narrowblock 2.6 either, but if they did make em-sweet.

I was indeed wrong. It is a wideblock.
