Kane, I had worked on a friends Max truck (shifter kept stripping out the 3-bolts that hold the shifter in) and told him 'if it ever dies on you or blows up, give me first dibbs on her..'
Well, the carb stuck wide open when he was drivin it and now its' got a knock, so I gave him some money down.
Popped the hood and its' an a 1990 max and has what looks like the g54b also..? I'm just going on what he said.. might be a late 89?
I was hoping to just pop in that 2.0L-4g63b that I had rebuilt a while back but this isn't going to be that easy.
as usual for me.. It's COVERED with about a 1/4" of grime. so after I get it all cleaned up I'll shoot ya some pics.
Also did some work on another friends 1992 Mazda B2600I and after changing the auto screen/filter on it got to lookin at the 2wd trans.. HUGE! about a foot longer than a GM trans!
I didn't examine it all that much since i knew it it was a 92 2600I but the valves were hydraulic (thought I'd have to adjust them) but didn't think further into it that it was a sibling to the g54b
