hi,
Im having trouble with an HMC engine that i put in a 79 escort.i dont know what specific engine this was til the head gasket i bought was marked 4g63bits an SOHC and i can only rev it up to 4500.Im really having trouble getting the power out.first of all,its old skool..it dont have en efi but a carb, and the CDI was shot so it had to be replaced with a contact point.Ive put on some headers and i can only do 100mph.i really need some help with this, and parts are hard to find here in tne phillipines. hope you guys can help.. thanks

re check your cam timing, if it looks right, then go on to verify your crank pulley and cam shaft markings are indexed properly ( make sure top dead center is indicated properly on the crankshaft pulley)
when an engine stopps at a given RPM , you will find the problem in cam timing or clogged exhaust
