Hey guys I'm back with more noob questions...I never started my 4g63 swap, due to the fact that I am still trying to find a good parts car to start with, but a buddy of mine just gave up on his 3000gt/stealth project and I can get everything CHEAP...motor, ECU, wiring harness, and turbo's...how realistic is finding a RWD transmission for this motor? (I can also get the AWD 6spd if that can be made RWD)
Is this a swap that is even worth doing? I don't know alot about the 3000gt motor...can this motor make reliable power? I probably would want to shoot for around 400 hp,
anyway let me know what you guys think...should I pick this stuff up, or continue the search for a good 4g63 parts car...I gotta do something soon or my business partner is gonna talk to me into putting a 302 v8 in this thing
RWD options for 3000gt TT motor

There's a lot more to the TT swap than a "simple" 4G63T swap. As well as being more expensive and less aftermarket support. But if you have a car to swap it into, then it would be cool. I have seen this done once, but I can't seem to find the internet pics of it. Try looking for Buschur Shootout pictures and see if you can find anyone that has done this swap. The 2WD 3.0L vehicles would be an easy place to start your swap as well.
I was really leaning towards the 302 swap because I don't think I'm gonna want to deal with putting together a RWD 4g63, and the $$ needed to make the 4g63 work for my HP goals seems a little high (but let's face it 400rwhp isn't cheap no matter what)
now that I know that there are some RWD options for the 3000gt motor I think I will be looking into what that motor is capable of doing with good internals and headstuds...at least the 3000gt motor will keep things in the family

I feel like your power goals aren't high enough to require that large of a motor/ that much work. 450 whp can easily be obtained on pump gas with a 30r and a 4g63. if your looking for more off boost torque, a 2.3/2.4 will help drastically. As for the 3kgt motor, yes you will hit 450 whp easier and yes you will have more off boost torque, but you'll be using a motor that spins bearings very often (look at the forums), and takes more work to install and leaves you with less room in the engine bay. If you want to upgrade any part of the motor it will be more expensive purely due to the fact that it has more parts. 4 cams/cam gears vs. 2, 6 pistons vs. 4, etc,...
btw, starquestclub.com is working, you just have to find a link to a thread and navigate from there. Their home page seems to be down, thats it.

You should NEVER pick-up a project like this because you can get it "cheap"!
You ether:
1. Do your research and find a platform that makes it easy to perform the swap.
2. Pick-up a platform that isn't as easy, but one to which you have a very strong personal attachment!
What might seem cheap now, can end up costing a LOT of money when you run into coplications!
Unless you are using a modified stock tranny, making a RWD from DSM or 3kGTs is NOT easy. So why suffer when there are so many native RWD cars?
