I have been throwing around the idea of back-halfing the truck in order to have a better suited supension and rear end. A local guy has an S&W rear frame kit for a mustang with coiovers and a narrowed 9" housing for sale. It looks like it would work out pretty well on the truck, but I wanted to get some input from you guys. Here is a link to the kit I could pick up locally:

Reasone for wanting to buy a pre fabbed kit was to eliminate some error since I haven't ever rebuilt a rear frame/suspension from scratch.
Thoughts on back-halfing the mighty max

Better suited to fast in a straight line and actually hook upRobert Venable wrote:Better Suited for what? If you are wanting to slap some 15+" wide tires on the rear, this is the way to go. If you are looking to make a drifter-- maybe not.
I am not sure on the tire size, but plans are to be at least 12" wide. I have decided to build my own rear half and make it similar to S&W's s-10 frame kit.
