SOHC->DOHC - Proof Read... suggestions.

Post by DJpowerHaus »

I've recently updated the SOHC to DOHC conversion page. I think I've covered everything but I might be wrong. I used CAPS to get all the part numbers and I think I got them all right.

Any suggestions or corrections?

Getting the engine bolted in is about 10% of the way there.
The next 80% can go quickly with help and skill.
That last 10% takes about as long as the 90% that came before it.

I am seeing more holes on the head than the gasket has. Those little slits right around the cylinder of the head,there are 6 of them. what are they for? the slits are not on the block.

The part numbers you have listed for both dohc engines that are the same part number....2.0 dohc's came in both 6 bolt and 7 bolt, 2.4 dohc's only came factory 7 bolt. which did you look up?
