Forged Crankshafts for sale..!!

Post by 77amc »

Hey Kids, I was at my local Advance Auto parts for some stuff and saw that they had crank kits for sale..
Well, I first asked about some older Honda Engines. (80-83 1300 cranks drop right into the older 1200's to make powerfull strokers..) Bill should know.
Yup he said. He can get 8.. Well after I came to, I asked abou the Mighty Max forged 2.0 cranks.. $164.00 with a 15.00 core.. He said he has 16 and could have one in the morning!!
SO that's where I may get mine from. It looks better than going to a pull a part and just TRY and get it pulled before heading off to work.
OH, I believe that was WITH bearings!

Just thought I'd let you guys n gals know that.

Topline in Chicago does a lot of that reman crank stuff, one of the problems in reman work is how they harden the crank
If the crank is rotated as its heat treated its okay, but if its hung on hooks and passed through the furnace it warps the cranks, then they turn the mains to correct the warpage
