I am swapping a 4g63 into my starion, that left me with a good g54b, engine harness, and ECU. I have the g54b in the 1991 mighty max, everything bolts up fine.
I figured much like the starion, the truck would have 2 separate harnesses (1 engine, 1 chassis) but there are several wires running to the drivers side of the car coming from the ecu.
I am not sure if i they are for warning lights on the dash or something more important, but half of the wire from the ecu go back in to the firewall on the drivers side.
Tell what i need to keep
thank you
g54b in a mighty max

You need to study the wire diagrams for the year ecu you have. What year starion harness are you working with?
87 to 89 ecu pin #,s
19 speed sensor (a plus for mileage, but not needed)
22 control relay fuel pump (to eci control relay)
51 & 57 power (ignition on from eci control relay)
52 and 53 ground
55 ignition switch start
58 inhibitor switch (year and trans specific)
59 boost meter (not needed)
63 backup power (constant 12 volt hot)
The coil gets power from the truck harness.
You need to retain the eci control relay. I can/t remember if that's part of the engine harness or not.

I was trying to post wiring diagrams but i could not figure out how to do a screen shot. Some pics of my work truck. It's been on the job for 6 or 7 years and it's really starting to show.

I hope this link works for you. The diagrams are under fuel systems, it kept locking up my computer when i tried to view them.
Another good link.
