The current issue of TURBO magazine has an article on a Bushur Racing preped Starion with a 4G63. If anybodies interested.

The article is in the FEB 08 issue if you can believe that. I'm just trying to get through December.
Even though it’s an auto made for the strip I thought it was a nice clean swap and thought there might be some interest in what had been done.
I never meant to take credit away from the owner of the car when I said it was a Bushur's product. When I saw Buschur named prominently on the car I made an assumption. Just goes to show what that will get you. Thanks for the correction.

Car in article has a th400. I wonder what other gm transmissions will bolt up using Buschur's adapter plate; autos, manuals?jeffball610 wrote:Yeah, Buschur's Starion is an auto with a Powerglide tranny. It's a drag only car, but it's fast as hell. Runs low 8's I believe.

I would have to assume a ton of different transmissions would be usable if the powerglide is. The TH350, TH400, 700-R4? 4L60-E? Muncie 4-speed? Saginaw 4-Speed? Saginaw 3-Speed?johnnyRacer wrote:Car in article has a th400. I wonder what other gm transmissions will bolt up using Buschur's adapter plate; autos, manuals?
An electronically controlled automatic could be pretty fun behind a 4G63, as long as you have one of those custom transmission computers that allow you to mess with shift points, etc.
and....I'm babbling....

the automatic's would all fit ,Hell, it could have been a torqueflite, or a C-6 Ford auto trans, but the stick shifts would have to include the throw out bearing system and flywheel/ starter combination and that is much more complicated than making a spacer plate to bolt a different trans to an engine
