Project Conquest 4G63T

Post by TicEagle »

Hi, I'm located in Montreal, Canada and I buy a Conquest from USA last years. I have the plan to swap my engine from my Eagle talon in the quest. This is my little story:

This is my old Eagle Talon (I made 426whp without nitrous at the Dsm Shootout on the Buschur Dyno)
Image

The plan is to use a Muncie Rock Crusher M22 manual 4 speed, fit a oem dsm bell housing, use stock flywheel, dsm 2900 pressure plate, custom 6 puck disc and a hydraulic throwout bearing. This is the results:

The total weight of the transmission with the bellhousing and the adaptor plate is 60 pounds. I just buy a new shifter for it. An inline v-gate shifter, no more ''H'' pattern only push-pull style.

I made a custom ss exhaust manifold, I use a Forester Intake manifold, I change my 2.0L engine for a brand new 2.3L, with Hks 272 cams, manual brake master, watercooler and lot lot more stock.

Custom motor mount

I don't want to have trouble with the rear thermostat housing and the waterpipe. I remote all of this things and I made a custom plate to replace the water pump. I run an electric water pump.

I strip all the car

Weld the roll cage and paint every things

Watercell for the water cooler

Manifold (now with Hks 60mm v-clamp)

And the results:

The first start up isn't bad

No, the Forester intake is made in two piece. It cast. You could change the side of the cover. It's bolt-on on a dsm head.

The bad thing, you could not use the stock brake booster.

It's not a intake manifold from a Subaru Forester but it's a intake manifold made for the dsm brand Forester (FRH)

So, how does someone get ahold of this "forester" manifold.
Is it a canadian car/motor?
I have a couple of friends in Vancouver..
How do you like the NON power brake setup?

Thanks. E

The Forrester is an aftermarket intake manifold. Do a google search and you'll find pictures, prices, etc.

Getting the engine bolted in is about 10% of the way there.
The next 80% can go quickly with help and skill.
That last 10% takes about as long as the 90% that came before it.
