As far as I can tell, no. But with all the parts sharing going on, there is a lot of doubt in my mind. Either way, the Hyundai and later Mitsu motors all mount on the passenger side of the car. So that might be something to consider before looking too far into it. I know that people have been saying the V6 Tiboron motor is kinda weak and not up to built power, but that might just pertain to the rods and pistons. If you're looking into V6 power from Mitsu, why not use the 6G72 from the 3000GT? Twin turbo and proven to hold lots of power. Also, the same block can be found in the Galant, Diamante, and some Hyundai cars. I haven't researched where else you can find them, but check out Road Race Engineering, they have a Mitsu engine guide on their site.

You could also use the 6g74 platform and use a 3.5 montero block for a stroker.

Check out the Hyundai and Mitsubishi engine entries in Wikipedia (read with a grain of salt  ).

Hyundai's G4 series are Mitsi's 4G, and Hyundai's G6 are Mitsi's 6G. 8)

Hyundai have a Sirius engine range, which is the Mitsi Sirius under license. The 2.0 4G63 and G4CP appear to be identical, as are the 2.4 4G64 and G4JS.

Appears the 96-01 Tiburon used the 2.0 G4GF Beta engine (a revised Sirius). This has the same 85.0mm bore and 88.0mm stroke as the Mitsi 4G63 (and the same as the G4CP).

Would suggest that all Hyundai's "big" 4 cylinder engines have been Mitsi based. Even the current Hundai Theta engine is based on the new Mitsi ali-alloy 4B series - part of the GEMA World Engine project (along with Chrysler).

All the Koreans bought there engines from the Japs - Hyundai from Mitsi, Kia from Mazda, Daewoo from GM. :)
