ebay oil pumps

I recently bought an oil pump housing from mizumoauto
on ebay. The price was right. We found when installing it that the oil pump sprocket hits the casting preventing it from spinning, possibly bending the sprocket.

We ground down the high spot on the casting only to make a pinhole that needed to be welded and reground. This still was not enough and we had to turn out some of the inside of the sprocket to get it to fit.

Finally, when we went to bolt it to the block, we found that one of the bolts on the back of the oil pump hit the block. Grinding down the block for clearance was scary, but with enough rags and a vacuum we did it safely.

Be sure to check everything if you order a cheaper casting, even if its new, from ebay. I emailed the seller to see if they have heard of anyone else having troubles.

How much did you pay? I usually just get the TopLine oil pump for about $180 from a dealer. Might find it a little cheaper on ebay. Never hear or had any trouble with them. They even come with a new oil pump gear unlike the more expensive Mitsu unit.
