Anyone know if there are any advantages to Aviation/Aircraft wire other than the fact that they don't put off (as much) toxic fumes as automotive wire does when it burns?
I have a freind that wired his car in Aviation/Aircraft wire because he claims that it is more capable of handling higher amperage than automotive wire. I've been searching the net for the last few hours and cannot find any info to support this. So, does anyone have any knowledge on the subject?

There are charts out there that list wire size/insulation and ampacity, lemme see if I can find something. The only one I have ever seen was in the nec.Robert Venable wrote:Ok, so is there a chart to explain this farther.89coltgt wrote:Fwiw the type of insulation on the wire directly affects its ampacity.
