That's funny. I have lost hope in my g54b that came in the mighty max when I bought it(cracked/warped head w/only 85,000 miles) Why are they so against the swap? It's not like it a non-mistu.

Been a lot of 4g swap bashing on SQC lately. We need some numbers and driveability reports. You'd think some of these guys eat, sleep, and breathe G54B like it was the greatest thing since sliced bread.

I gave the G54 a chance and while being a good motor it let me down a few times.

It was the greatest.... back in the day! I still remember those billboards stating 200HP and xxx torque! But times have changed. No sense in beating a dead horse. Don't get me wrong tho, if you had the money to have a whole motor made from scratch i'm sure it would be awesome, but at what cost $$$?

My '84 truck has been running daily for 14 months now-only problems were leaked caps in the ECU, a broken clutch cable, clogged fuel filter, short in the wirinig that drains the battery (marine battery disconect "fixed" that) and continued idle surge in cold weather. I know it's a lot different than a buit race set up but at least it goes and it's still a blast to run around in.

How many total running swaps are there on this site? How many built vs stock swaps? I'm curious.
