HY35 turbo

With the HX35 on the 2.4L I was getting about 4psi at 2500rpm and full boost of 15psi at 3000rpm with FP3 cams no less! Spool is very fast. No need for antilag even. I am using the 9cm housing from Bullseye though (.63 A/R). There are different housings available from Cummins/Dodge: 12cm, 16cm, 18cm. I think there is a 9cm HY35 as well.

Getting the engine bolted in is about 10% of the way there.
The next 80% can go quickly with help and skill.
That last 10% takes about as long as the 90% that came before it.

If you're going to try to rebuild a Holset there is PLENTY of information on them here: http://www.holset.co.uk/files/4_4-servi ... rature.php including assembly / disassembly instructions as well as torque and service specs.
I actually have 2 HX35s although they are slightly different. One is a backup, but I will probably put it on the car before I need it to verify that the seals are still good. I had to clean up the spare a few weeks ago and all went pretty well. Cleaned some carbon deposits out from behind the turbine wheel. Spins free now.

Its a 9cm round hole Mitsubishi flange housing made by Bullseye Power. It makes the turbo more expensive since it cost about $200. I looked on their site and it doesnt even list this part anymore. Looks as though they are focusing their efforts on Borg Warner S series turbos these days.
If I had to do it again I'd probably just make a log manifold with a flange for an HX or HY.
