Vacation July 19 - July 31 Colorado/Utah/New Mexico/Arizona

Post by DJpowerHaus »

Just wanted to see if there were any members out in the 4 corners area that I might be close enough to to visit while on vacation.

I'm starting my trip in Colorado Springs for the Pike's Peak Hillclimb from late on the 18th through the 22nd. Then I'm moving on to Mesa Verde on the 23rd and then the Grand Canyon on the 25th. Bryce Canyon on the 27th-29th and then Arches on 30th or so. Fly home from Denver on 31st.

Anybody out that way that wants to meet up? I told my mom about my trip and now both my mom and dad are tagging along as well. The more the merrier.

Advice on traveling out this way would be nice too. Anything we should stop off and see?

Getting the engine bolted in is about 10% of the way there.
The next 80% can go quickly with help and skill.
That last 10% takes about as long as the 90% that came before it.

Flying out to Denver, sorry. But I will be driving from Baltimore to Grand Rapids MI for a SQM later this summer with racecar in tow. I'll be sure to stop by on that trip.

Don't know which way you plan to drive out of Colorado Springs (i live 45 miles south) But if you can, drive highway 50 west through Salida. It's shorter to go straight to Salida from Springs, but the drive is worth it. You'll pass right by me (Canon City) and you can visit the Royal Gorge bridge. Just the world's highest suspension bridge, it's a tourist thing. I'll probably be at the hill climb too. Hit me up and I can point you to all the tourist things your parents will want to visit.

PM me your phone number. I'm driving and navigating so I'll try to work a quick visit into the plan.
