I'm new to the forums but I've been in love with the 4G63 since it's birth. I am currently doing a restification on a 1972 Toyota celica and decided that I wanted to go a different route than all the guys throwing Honda F20c motors in their celicas. So I decided to use the 4G. The bummer about it is that I had to figure most of the stuff out myself as I didn't find this site until after I had started doing the dirty...
but enough of the talking, PICS!! and this site has been a great resource thus far!
The 4G's future home...
putting it together...
4G64 motor mounts
rwd water pump...
engine and trans together
I think the first thing I'll do when I'm done is show up at an evo meet and then go to a toyota meet so the purists can all hate on me hahaha

Is the 2.0L pump different than the 2.4L pump? I have a pump but it was listed for either engine. How did you adjust the water pump pulley for the different offset of the pump? Also, do you have pictures of the modifications to the water pump to clear the timing belt?
What are you doing about the water line in the back of the head?
Getting the engine bolted in is about 10% of the way there.
The next 80% can go quickly with help and skill.
That last 10% takes about as long as the 90% that came before it.
Yea, all you have to do is shave one of the ribs and cut down a bolt boss and it will fit. I used a hydro press to move the center of the pulley just enough to line up
I am using a 1990 mightymax 2.4L waterpump on my 4G63 truck. I installed it about 7 years ago, and I think all I had to do was grind away a little aluminum on it. I also used the smaller coolant hose from the truck to run the antifreeze to my heater box. Then I flattened the pulley to line up the belt. I have tons of pictures on my website http://www.hotrodcoffeeshop.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=3
(I thought everybody was doing this, I had no idea there was any interest in it.)

So I'm too tired to write it up so.... visual
I miss my '76... except for having to mess with the carb all the time.
MMMM 4G, just like mom used to make...
Hard work it is
Yes, my brother managed to somehow wear the same color shirt as I did that day....
I tried to explain all this to the dog but she was clueless...
Shifter lines up perfect, no mods.
My plan for world domination is almost complete.....
Your injectors match your block. Is the car going to match it as well?

Thanks for the comments guys, the injector/block color combo was a complete accident I didn't realize the injectors matched the color I chose for the block until after I started to reasemble the engine. The car is leaning towards being painted Honda championship white.
and btw it done and running, hauls ass and has scared the shit out of me a few times now... breaking them loose at 70mph on the freeway is NOT recomended.... and was not really intentional either, i didn't think it would do that haha.
I'll post a video, and the fronts all been redone, fan was moved to the pulling position, oil coller was moved and an intercooler has since been installed.
Well, Kuroi. I see you're on here too probably going to start my own project thread once I can justify it. I've been very patient with my build so far. My cylinder head finally got done. I'll be picking it up next week and hopefully I can get some pictures of what I've been hiding. for the engine side of the build anyway
Unless I missed something, it appears that you have added a hydraulic clutch to a transmission that was originally a cable clutch. Do you have any more pictures of the hydraulic clutch setup? What are you opinions on it so far? Is it worth the effort?

Hella cool pics! my car was the bastard child of the show, hella people asked about it and took pics but the judges had no love for it. haha what was I thinking, should have entered a honduh. The wilwood slave set up wasn't that hard to rig up, the pedal was a little stiff but I was running an Exedy street/strip pressure plate with a 2.6L truck disk, no slip.
P.S I sold the car to a guy in Sacramento, I might pick up a 75 from a friend and do the same swap in it if I can find a workspace to rent that is, space is limited in the bay and all.
