B2600 Lower Bellhousing Cover

Post by DJpowerHaus »

Today I made a cover for the lower bellhousing. My engine sits low enough that it acts as a shovel on the driveway. Hopefully this will be enough to keep rocks out of my clutch. I had 2 pieces of aluminum bent so I'm making another which I might put up for sale. The 2nd one always ends up fitting better anyways.

Getting the engine bolted in is about 10% of the way there.
The next 80% can go quickly with help and skill.
That last 10% takes about as long as the 90% that came before it.

Since Bill is going through the trouble of casting new bellhousings for the narrow block engines, has anyone thought to re-cast the B2600 bellhousing? I don't know how much it would cost or how much interest therre is, but it's a thought.

You could probably order an OEM one for cheaper. I know I have that part number around here somewhere.

Yeah I called all the junkyards I could find, and nothing.

If some one in the states (or anyehere else for that matter) finds one they want to sell and dont mind shipping it to New Zealand, shoot me a email at

jp_prescott@hotmail.com

Or if I had a Part number I could get one off Mazda.

Thanks,
Jason
