BR gm automatic flex plate-Torque Coverter options?
Can any off the shelf Torque Converters be used with the Bushur gm adapter plate and flexplate? Thier converter is a nice piece, but kinda pricey and I don't need a 5k stall with my planned setup

no you cannot use any off the shelf converter. im having a new one made off of buschurs design but significantly improved. www.edgeracingconverters.com is making it for me. if you call talk to andre. hes very aware of th-350 behind the mitsu motors and he makes the converters for all the supra guys with th-400s. i would buy the adaptor plate and flexplate from buschur as my new converter is based off those. good luck. also it cost me $800 which is $150 cheapoer than buschur and a much better unit.

Sounds awesome. Let me know how it works for you. I take it they can build one with for any stall speed? Thanks.
i think he said the math worked out to a max stall of 4800. i went with 4400 for some streetability.89coltgt wrote:peregrine wrote:no you cannot use any off the shelf converter. im having a new one made off of buschurs design but significantly improved. www.edgeracingconverters.com is making it for me. if you call talk to andre. hes very aware of th-350 behind the mitsu motors and he makes the converters for all the supra guys with th-400s. i would buy the adaptor plate and flexplate from buschur as my new converter is based off those. good luck. also it cost me $800 which is $150 cheapoer than buschur and a much better unit.

you wont be happy with anything under 3000. its not like v8s. you have to remember that we can turn the boost up which will in turn increase the stall speed. im hoping i will see upwards of 5000 when i crank the boost.89coltgt wrote:I am looking to keep the stall under 3k, probably around 2.5k, I am not planning to run a big turbo yet, but the 4.5k stall would be fun
