As I mentioned in the other post, I would definitely be interested in this. I'm all about Do-It-Yourself, however I'm not all about Reinvent-The-Wheel ;).

Devils Advocate: couldnt you just cut the thermostat housing flange off the housing.. and weld the water neck onto it, weld in 2 bungs for temp guage sensor and ECU temp sensor... and put an inline thermostat downstream.

Underdog told me this summer that the Buscher "thermostat housing" is basically a flange with a restriction.. no thermostat at all. But I imagine that when its a racecar you'll have time to warm it up properly anyways.

Getting the engine bolted in is about 10% of the way there.
The next 80% can go quickly with help and skill.
That last 10% takes about as long as the 90% that came before it.

That's pretty sweet. When are you going to take out all that crap from the engine bay that you dont need.

Did you run into anything behind the firewall... or did you have the heatercore box out? That's not moved forward is it?

I made a piece that fits in place of the freeze plug. It seals with an o-ring, and is retained by a button head cap screw. I'm sure cooling is less than ideal, but with my resources it was the best I could come up with. I might try to get an IR thermometer and measure the head at differet spots.

If there are enough people wanting these I might be willing to do a "kit".
