Truck still doesnt start.
i did the 4g63 swap in my 87 d50 and it still will not start. I have fuel. and it turns over find but no spark at the spark plug. I know everything is good because i drove the car into the garage before i took the motor out. and the CAS is plugged in. and Ignitor. idk what else to check for. can anyone help me out. help me eliminate what the problem could be.
Here is what i was told to check for.
"Make sure pin 103 is hot all the time, and that pin 102 and 107 are getting power whenever the car is turned on."
results all pins are constant power. you think thats the problem? 102 is battery and 103 is for the battery and 107 is all for the battery i dont think that it would matter if the were all on or not. or would it? i dont think this has anything to do with my no spark.

i only hooked up the two powers, constant and back up and the clutch cut.
the only thing i hooked up that was only hot during cranking is the starter.lol
did you hook up the switched constant to the wire that stays hot when you are starting.
when you are starting your truck almost everything loses power, like the cig lighter, and cd player. this puts less strain on the electrical system. there is one or two wires that turn hot when the key is on and stay hot when you try and start your truck. that is the switched constant that needs to be hooked up to the ecu, coils, cas, ect. there is one wire that needs to be hooked up on the engine wiring harness. that wire is spliced everything together in the harness.

here is what i have done.
fuel pump ran to pin 2 on MR. it kicks on no problem with that.
Now here is what im unsure of.
I have 1 wire running from the wire on fuse box to pin 3 on the MR.
I have the BW wire from truck coil ran to PIN 3 ON MR.
I have wired the IG1 from the ignition to the MR pin 3.
on the IGN AM (constant 12v) i ran to MR pin 5.
R on the ingiton i ran to 108 on dsm ecu.
IGN 1 on ingiton i ran to 110 on ecu.
Did i forget something? obviously i did or wired something up wrong cause all it does it turn over and i have no spark.

there is a lot more to understanding what you are doing than just what wire goes where.
First, are you wiring a complete Eclipse engine control system into a D-50 wiring? in other words, are you trying to power the Eclipse engine control system with D- 50 truck wiring?
I guess the wiring should be adressed as three sub systems, ignition, fuel management and charging system.
maybe if you focus just on ignition only, then you can answer these questions you have
you cant begine without a factory wiring diagram, you should have a factory electronic service manual before you go any further

peregrine is right, it took me two days to figure it out, and i only hooked up five wires total. when i start, well i didnt know where to start, and i started pulling my hair out. i just started to do contantnuity test, one wire at a time. i found my back up power and labled it. i did not just slice into right off of the ecu. i spliced into the plug (b38) that conects the engine harness to the chasis.
you should have only spliced the b-38 plug(if that is what it is called. that plug has everything in it,
one wire at a time.
